AOK Friends started on July 14, 2007 by an individual with a dream. LPJ decided something needed to be done to make the community a better place. "How could this happen," LPJ said to them self. It came in a vision to go to Downtown Seattle and give food to the homeless.

There were many obstacles LPJ had to overcome and by using kindness, generosity and courage started a dream. LPJ distinctly remembers the first encounter with a homeless man and leads a motto the homeless man said. "The only thing real before you die is what you give."

In 2009, AOK Friends has been officially recognized as a non-profit organization. AOK Friends also knows that thousands of anonymous people do acts of kindness to others everyday and are not physically recognized or rewarded. This charity of goodwill shows that with everything going on around us, love is still in our hearts.
